Description: Vintage cast-metal cannon featuring spoked wheels and detailed artillery styling. Features detailed artillery styling with large, spoked wheels and movable carriage. Has ‘Japan’ on underside. Likely mid-century Japanese export piece (1940s–1960s).

Current Item Condition: Item has worn from use. Much of the paint is gone from the barrel of the cannon and areas around the body of the toy. Spring to adjust cannon is intact and functioning.

History: Small cast-iron and cast-metal cannons were popular from the late 1800s through the 1950s. They were often sold as souvenirs at historical sites and battlefields, given as promotional items, and used as decorative pieces.
