Rare antique Siebe Gorman & Co. Ltd. smoke helmet air bellows/pump featuring its original maker’s plates, signaling instructions, brass horn, leather bellows, metal hardware, and mounting base.

This early firefighting and industrial safety apparatus was designed to supply fresh air to a smoke helmet through an attached hose. The instruction plate provides a code of signals between the smoke-helmet wearer and the person operating the air supply.

The bellows have been tested and produce air/noise when operated. No additional testing has been performed. This is being sold as an antique collectible and display piece only—not as functioning modern safety equipment.

Condition:
Antique preowned condition with substantial age-related wear. The piece has dust, dirt, oxidation, discoloration, surface wear, scratches, cracking, deterioration, and damage to the leather bellows and other materials. The hose and smoke helmet are not included. Additional pieces may be missing. It has not been cleaned or restored.
